MV (Motor Vessel) Brigitte Bardotis a high-tech trimaran, currently used by the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society to fight against illegal whaling fleets. She was built for less than one year, starting in June, 1997 and named officially on 3th of April, 1998 in London’s West India Dock. At the very beginning the ship was called “Cable and Wireless Adventurer” and travelled the world in less than 80 days (74d, 20hr, 58m, if we have to be completely exact) with which created a Guinness world record for powered vessel. Before getting her last name the ship was renamed few times and used the names as follows: Ocean 7 Adventurer, Rat Race Media Adventurer, Miles for Smiles Adventurer and Gojira.
MV Brigitte Bardotis powered by two diesel engines which allow maximum speed of 27 knots, or 50 km/h. She is able to use and biodiesel as fuel. The ship is nearly 35 meters long and displaces 41 tons of water. Brigitte Bardot becomes a home for a crew with up to a 16 members.
In 2008 MV Brigitte Bardot, then called “Cable and Wireless Adventurer”, set a new Guinness record travelling around the globe for 60 days, 23 hours and 49 minutes.
