Eco Bath System

with 8 comments
Designed by designer Jang WooSeok, the “Eco Bath System” is a new concept that combines the functions of a sink and toilet bowl. Drawing inspiration from the natural flow of water on earth, the Eco Bath System accumulates the water used to wash your hands which further can be reused to clean the toilet. The inspirational design by the South Koren designers not just helps in sustaining the environment, by motivating the users to conserve water in their day-to-day life.

The flush tank is connected to a freshwater source as well as a sink. When gray water enters the tank, it is mixed with the same amount of fresh water. This 50-50 consistency keeps your toilet drains unclogged and also ensures that 50% of fresh water is saved in the process.

Excellent concept, but the user would need to be careful what they put in the sink, since this would be 50% of what sits in the toilet bowl between flushes. Toothpaste, mouthwash, anything put in the sink drain, could be messy or unpleasant in the toilet bowl

Fantastic concept! In regards to the previous comment I would think that anything that goes down your sink drain would eventually dissolve in water. This concept reduces the need for toilet bowl fresheners lol as the things mixed in with water that go down the sink (soap, toothpaste, mouthwash, shaving cream) all smell delicious in my opinion. And the only solids that could possibly go down are very short hairs from shaving. Would rather any of that in my toilet bowl than a giant floating turd that failed to be properly flushed haha

Great idea. Might want to put a filter somewhere that gets rid of those extra bit like hair and snot.

How is the mix determined to be 50/50? Is there some mechanism that shuts off the incoming amount of used water or at least an overflow mechanism? I realize the schematic shown is likely a simplified version of the sink/toilet combo, but it seems like there might be a need for some further engineering.

Remnants of facial hair sticking to the side of my toilet and floating around in my toilet in between flushes is not very appealing but this is basically a good concept. I agree with Anonymous about maybe some kind of filter IF it doesn't already have one.

Nice idea, but the concept was around for ages. Check out the Venus Project. A single water unit of shower, sink, and toilet. I have no idea why the idea isn't already in use; current plumbing systems are archaic.

Better yet, it rinses the filter's content every time it flushes.
It's probably not good to have things from the sink sitting for a long time, so we ave to wonder about this, though the concept of using gray water to flush black water is very good.

Also, an instant water heater & bidet.
