Mind-controlled car

German researches made a breakthrough in technological industry with the development of a car which is controlled by by a person's thoughts.

The parts that are used by a Brain Driver are off the shelf ,they include  an electroencephalography system designed for gaming, to control an autonomous Volkswagen Passat. The cars isn't speedy and its only receive rudimentary commands but it’s like a vehicle which drives itself“ The whole thing was not done as a real application for today, but as a ‘technology push,’ as a proof of concept of what technology can already achieve,” says Raul Rojas, a professor of artificial intelligence at the Free University of Berlin.Last year Rojas and his colleagues developed Eye Driver a car that you control with your eye. That got them thinking about using the human mind to control a vehicle directly.

Brain’s electromagnetic signals are measured and transfer to a computer. The computer translates them into directions turn left, turn right ,accelerate ,stop – for the car’s drive-by-wire autonomous system to control the brakes, accelerator and steering.
The speed of the cars isn’t reasonable as the interpretation and integration of command from the brain takes some time”

One of the drawback of the cars is that its doesn’t get commands from everybody’s brain because of the BRAIN COMPUTER INTERFACE (BCI) and the reason for this is unknown

This concept was initiated by “DARPA” the most prominent research organization in United States  in 2004.
Rojas and his team plan to demonstrate their autonomous car with a real-world test in Berlin traffic later this year and if that gets successful the world is going to experience  “hands free cars”
