I have the same system in my truck. If I have the cruise control on it will slow me down if the car in front of me is going slower than my speed. And if the car in front slams on the brakes then the same result will happen shown in the video. The thing with mine in heavy traffic areas it tends to slam on the brakes when some cuts In front of you.
That must be the ultimate challenge for artificial intelligence. Someone cuts directly in front of you neither you or the computer can tell if that person is just going to stop dead so the brakes being slammed on seems reasonable if not scary.
That is impressive.
